Mother Teresa (1910 – 1997), also referred to as Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, was born Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu and was an Albanian Roman Catholic nun. She founded the Missionaries of Charity which is made up of over 4,500 sisters in 133 countries. Their work consists of operating hospices and homes for people with HIV/AIDS, leprosy and tuberculosis; soup kitchens; children’s and family counseling programmes; orphanages; and schools.  In 1979, Mother Teresa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. In 2003, she was beatified, the third step toward sainthood in the Roman Catholic Church. Enjoy today’s peace quote:
