A question we have all asked ourselves is, How do I forgive? You might have even asked yourself, How do I forgive myself? These are among the most important questions we can ask ourselves and when we discover how to forgive we experience so much more peace and happiness in our lives. See, forgiveness is all about you. Many people think forgiving is all about letting someone ‘off the hook‘ but it’s not. Forgiveness is one of the highest forms of self-love as it lets you off the hook whereby you are no longer burdoned by the heavy weight of resentment and anger and become free to move forward in your life. Modern Day Mastery co-founder, Rick Beneteau, has it: “There is much freedom to be found in forgiveness.” He also wrote a song about the subject some twenty-five years ago and although about forgiveness in a romantic relationship, we encourage you to click the Play button below to listen. Lyrics appear below. Arranged by Larry Thompson and vocal by Joan Colbourn-Charette.

Forgiveness

For all the times I lied
For all the tears you cried
I am asking
For your forgiveness

For every time I ran
Refused to understand
I am asking
For your forgiveness

For every midnight, a sunrise
For every darkness, a light
For every storm, a clear horizon
For every wrong, I will right

For every needless fight
For every sleepless night
I am asking
For your forgiveness

For what we should have seen
For where we could have been
I am asking
For your forgiveness

For every midnight, a sunrise
For every darkness, a light
For every storm, a clear horizon
For every wrong, I will right

For all we will become
When all is said and done
I am asking
For your forgiveness
