Today, we honor the life and work of visionary man-of-peace, Nelson Mandela, who passed away at the age of 95 this week. Most of the world knows his story of fighting for the freedom of his South African brothers and sisters, spending 27 years in tiny prison cells sleeping on a straw mat while planning for the moment he would be finally freed to unite a fiercely divided nation and see the end of Apartheid. Mandela’s unshakeable faith in the cause of equality and his belief in the power of forgiveness are the foundation of a life-legacy that will surely impact the world for centuries.
